When the founders of Ambrosia Foods were looking for a name for their Caribbean snacks business, they recalled their childhood love of Greek mythology and named the brand Ambrosia —’ the food of the gods’. And truly, where else is more ‘heaven on earth’ than the Caribbean?
Ambrosia Foods came to StudioTM with a logo already in use for their first product, but the identity needed an update. The new logo is a thoughtful progression of the original mark, retaining the script style and flower; however, the new flower is an abstraction of the Victoria Amazonica – ‘the giant water lily’, the national flower of Guyana, which is the birth country of the founders, embedding the brand identity with deeper meaning.
For the package design of Ambrosia Coconut Chips, the founders wanted to create a piece of ‘Caribbean Paradise’. We created an illustration inspired by descriptions of the founders’ childhood, featuring small snack shops, home cooking, and markets filled with fresh fruits and vegetables—the ingredients used to create Ambrosia Snacks.
In lieu of transparent cutouts to showcase the product, we layered photography of the chips as the base of the design, making the product a core part of the art and the story.
