Tanya Marie is an independent Designer and Branding Consultant based in Trinidad & Tobago, West Indies with over 12 years experience developing communication design and crafting distinct and memorable brand identities within the Caribbean and it’s diaspora.
Tanya is also the Founding Creative Director of the Caribbean Creative Lifestyle brand, Designer Island - An elegantly designed online publication that curates ‘The Modern Caribbean Aesthetic’ by presenting some of the best designers and makers of the Caribbean and their work. There she collaborates with photographers, writers and other creatives to curate and share the stories that challenge the perception of Caribbean design.
As a Brand Identity Designer, Tanya’s work is rooted in understanding and unveiling the true value of a company, person or project and presenting that rich, intrinsic identity through a pattern of careful and engaging communication design that sets you apart from the crowd.
Some of Tanya’s past work includes the rebranding of the Blue Waters Hotel in Tobago, the identity and branding system for the Immortelle Beauty brand, designing the branding system for the Fort Young Hotel & Secret Bay Hotel in Dominica, and the country branding of Pure Grenada.
Tanya has a unique artistic background as a painter and illustrator and holds a first degree in Visual Communication desigand a Masters degree in Creative Design Entrepreneurship. These skills combined with her strategic design practice, allows her work to beautifully translate both handmade lettering, bespoke patterns and illustrations as well as developing modern and memorable corporate design and branding systems through a strategic design process and creative partnership with her clients.
